HTML to PDF: what to expect from the conversion
HTML to PDF converts HTML file through a reviewed workflow; check the result for the parts that matter to your document.
What HTML to PDF does
HTML to PDF converts an uploaded HTML file through LibreOffice; it is not a service for entering or crawling a website URL.
Linked styles, images, fonts, scripts, and remote resources may be unavailable to the isolated conversion process, so a browser view is not a fidelity guarantee.
How to use this tool
Choose HTML file
Select one supported HTML file for HTML to PDF from your device and wait for its upload to finish.
Prepare the source
Create a self-contained HTML file with the required visible content and print-oriented styles, avoiding dependencies on login state or client-side scripts.
Run HTML to PDF
Start the HTML to PDF job and leave the page open while its queued conversion is processed.
Review the downloaded file
Compare headings, tables, page breaks, images, links, and margins against the intended printable representation.
Common use cases
Archive a simple local report
Convert a self-contained exported HTML report into a PDF review copy.
Prepare printable documentation
Render static HTML instructions that have already been designed for print.
Supported inputs
- One .html or .htm file uploaded from the device
Output
One PDF named converted.pdf, produced from the uploaded local HTML document.
Limitations to know
- Remote URLs cannot be supplied directly and external assets may not load during conversion.
- JavaScript-driven content and browser-only layout behavior are not guaranteed to execute.
- Complex CSS, web fonts, forms, and responsive layouts may differ from a modern browser.
Privacy and document handling
- The selected HTML file is uploaded to configured object storage so the HTML to PDF worker can process it.
- The HTML to PDF result is stored as a separate output and made available through a time-limited signed download URL.
- Before using HTML to PDF, do not upload confidential HTML file unless the current storage and retention information is suitable for the document.
Stored input and output objects are deleted automatically: files uploaded without an account are removed about 24 hours after upload, and files belonging to a signed-in account are removed after 7 days. A scheduled sweep enforces this hourly against the object store itself. Workers attempt to remove per-job temporary directories after processing. This does not delete stored input or output objects.

Troubleshooting
Images are missing
Embed required images or package the HTML as a self-contained document rather than relying on inaccessible relative or remote paths.
Dynamic content is blank
Export the final rendered information as static HTML before uploading because client scripts may not run.
Page breaks look wrong
Add print-specific CSS and simplify fixed or viewport-based layout rules in the source file.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a website URL?
No. The verified interface accepts a local HTML or HTM file, not a remote address.
Will JavaScript run before the PDF is made?
Do not rely on it. Supply static visible HTML containing the content that must appear.
Will the PDF match every browser pixel for pixel?
No. LibreOffice and web browsers use different layout engines, so review the output carefully.
How should I check my HTML to PDF result?
Open every HTML to PDF download and compare it with the unchanged source before sharing or deleting anything. Pay particular attention to this documented limitation: Remote URLs cannot be supplied directly and external assets may not load during conversion.
