About protecting a PDF
Protect PDF adds a password so only people with the password can open the file. It is the right choice for contracts, offer letters, invoices, medical records, or any document you are emailing to a recipient you trust more than the channel itself.
Choose a long passphrase (sixteen characters or more if you can manage it), and share the password through a different channel than the file — text message, phone call, or a separate email — so a single intercept does not give away both.
PDFWhirl uses 128-bit AES encryption. Every upload is processed over TLS and deleted within two hours.
