What Rotate PDF does

Rotate PDF changes the rotation assigned to chosen pages and saves a new document. Different pages can be turned by different multiples of 90 degrees in one job.

Page content is not transcribed or edited. The worker updates page orientation while retaining the document page sequence.

How to use this tool

Limitations to know

The operation rotates full pages; it does not rotate a single image or text block within a page.
A page must be turned by a multiple of 90 degrees.
Rotation does not crop margins, change paper dimensions, or repair an unreadable source.
Visual previews should be checked because existing page rotation can affect the final orientation.

Privacy and document handling

The uploaded PDF is processed by the PDF worker and a separate rotated output is stored for download.
The worker attempts to clean up temporary files after processing, which is distinct from retention of uploaded and output objects.
Use the private support address for sensitive security questions instead of posting document details publicly.

Stored input and output objects are deleted automatically: files uploaded without an account are removed about 24 hours after upload, and files belonging to a signed-in account are removed after 7 days. A scheduled sweep enforces this hourly against the object store itself. Workers attempt to remove per-job temporary directories after processing. This does not delete stored input or output objects.

Troubleshooting

Rotate PDF cannot be started

Rotate at least one thumbnail and wait until the source upload and page rendering have completed.

A page turns farther than expected

Account for any rotation already stored in the source and adjust the thumbnail again before rerunning.

Only some pages changed

Review which thumbnails show a rotation badge; pages without a selected rotation remain as they were.

Frequently asked questions

Can different pages use different directions?

Yes. The interface groups the selected page rotations and sends them together in one processing job.

Does rotation reduce image quality?

The worker changes page rotation rather than rasterizing each page, so this operation is not designed as image recompression.

Can I rotate by a few degrees to straighten a scan?

No. The public Rotate PDF operation uses 90-degree increments and is not a deskew tool.

How should I check my Rotate PDF result?
